Again, not too much to go off of this week because every practice was ran before qualifying. During the two-hour first practice, teams worked on race setups while during the second practice (only 45 minutes), most teams perfected their car for qualifying. Kenseth was so unhappy with his car in first practice that he didn't work on qualifying much in second practice (not that he qualifies very good anyway..). Kahne, Stewart, Reutimann, Logano, Truex Jr, Hamlin, Ragan, Hornish Jr, McMurray, Earnhardt Jr, and Kenseth all practiced significantly more than other teams in final practice.

15-Lap Average speeds are much more important than one fast lap. The top ten fastest at 15-lap averages in practice number one were:

Average speeds are calculated by taking the average speed of each driver in each practice and multiplying it by the number of laps ran. When you do this for each practice and add the two totals together, and then divide by the total number of laps ran, you get a pretty good indicator on who has a fast car.
